Your data stays on your PC
SwitchToJelly is a desktop app. It talks to Plex and to your Jellyfin server, and to nothing else of ours. There is no SwitchToJelly account and no telemetry.
Your credentials
- Your Plex and Jellyfin sign-ins are stored in the Windows Credential Manager, never in a plain file.
- They are only sent to Plex and to your Jellyfin server, to talk to them.
- Disconnecting a server in the app removes its saved sign-in.
What the app sends, and where
- Plex: to sign you in and read your libraries, history and playlists.
- Your Jellyfin server: to read its libraries and write the history and playlists you confirmed in the preview.
- GitHub: to check for app updates and download them. No account, usage or library data is sent.
Nothing about you, your servers or your media is sent to us.
Your licence
The licence key is checked offline, on your PC, with a digital signature. Activating it makes no network call. It is stored in the Windows Credential Manager.
Migration data
The migration plan and what is needed to undo it are kept in memory only. They are gone when you close the app. A report is only written if you choose to save one.
Diagnostics
- The app keeps a small local log (three files of 1 MiB at most) to help when something goes wrong.
- It never contains a password, token, licence key, e-mail, server address or name, file path or media title. This is enforced in the code that writes the log, not filtered afterwards.
- Nothing is sent automatically. If you want help, you export the file and attach it to your message yourself.
Updates
Every update is signed. The app checks the signature before installing it and refuses any file that does not match.
